the Solo Baric series i heard hits really hard, so i decided to get soem S8L7s
they are dual 4-ohm speakers with 450watts max. im looking to get a profile amp because they have a nice warranty and are good amps from what i hear. basically im curious what kind of power i want to run. there's KenWoods that i would get that put out 150X2 for thesame price as a profile putting 200X2 one profile does 200X2 @4 and 400 or 450X2 @2...i don't plan to blow em, but should i stay away from it for safety? all opinions appreciated. -------------------- ![]() |

Ok, the real question is, is your amp going to pump 400 watts into each speaker- of 400 watts into BOTH speakers (resulting in 200 watts to each speaker).
So, for a 2 JL 3v2 (optimal RMS around 300w); you will have to buy an amp that delivers 600w @ 2 ohms. Just because it says 600w@2 ohms doesn't mean each sub will be getting that much! Anything but. I wrote this, knowing most of you already know- because it was an issue I was confused with for a long time.. ![]() |
