I am having a problem with squeaky brakes when its above 15 degrees. I have heard that the Toyotas are bad for this and the culprit has something to do with factory equipment. Problem is, in addition to braking, they squeal sometimes when you drive unless you tap the brakes.
My brakes are from 2000, and they have a lot of life left. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this annoying and noisy problem? Anne |

Check your pads, if theyre Toyota OEM pads they may crack if you drive hard on them. I had the same problem twice, 50%+ of the pad left and they were split right down the middle and squeaking like crazy below 10 mph.
