the Solo Baric series i heard hits really hard, so i decided to get soem S8L7s
they are dual 4-ohm speakers with 450watts max. im looking to get a profile amp because they have a nice warranty and are good amps from what i hear. basically im curious what kind of power i want to run. there's KenWoods that i would get that put out 150X2 for thesame price as a profile putting 200X2 one profile does 200X2 @4 and 400 or 450X2 @2...i don't plan to blow em, but should i stay away from it for safety? all opinions appreciated. -------------------- ![]() |

CelicaDeath, just because you didn't understand at first what I was saying, doesn't mean it's not true.
As you pointed out (after looking it up I assume), Subs with underpowered amps are much more likely to be damaged when the gain knob is cranked. Without all the technical stuff added in, it goes to this: If you underpower a sub, it will more likely be damaged than it would be if you have too much power going to a sub. Subs are damaged more by too little power, than by too much. I stand by that statement, and your own second post proves me right- it's not a huge stretch |
