Heheh... and I guess you're the VERY experienced one huh? FYI... I also drive an n/a MR2 and all of my cousins are Honda guys (98 Prelude VTEC, d16 VTEC Civic, K20A Civic SI, B18B Integra...) so you're the one that doesn't know jack ****. You don't even know what Final Drive ratio is and what it affects... It's the product of all of the gear ratios... and it determines the reduction between each gear. It doesn't determine overall acceleration... but it does determine a cars potential max speed between each gear... Acceleration is determined mostly by the power an engine makes, and the actual gear ratio... not the final drive. Toyota trannies are not built for acceleration. They're built to utilize mid-ranged torque.... NOT power. Comparatively speaking... go drive a car that has a tranny utilized for power and you'll see how different they are (ie: Corolla GT-S). FYI... I am talking from experience. So what if you have a 2.2 liter 5SFE. It's not a performance engine. I'm also willing to bet... you're no faster than I am in my ST... Yo know very little about anything... let alone challenging cars with far more hp and torque... -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
1995 AT200 Celica ST: stocked out daily driver... 1984 AE86 Corolla GT-SR5: silvertop 20V 4AGE project car jacked up with goodies... 1991 SW2x MR2 n/a: bare bones hardtop model soon to be... |
