You should recruit them to the site, so they can give us some more info on exactly what they've done and everything. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the quick reply by the way.

These guys are very busy.

My mechanic is one and the other is not really internet friendly.

But yours truely is here if you believe me, which to some point you don't.

Mainly these guys starts of with cars under 1100Kg with non 5AFE engines.

For instant, my mechanic had a 1997 4AFE Corolla in his car. 1080Kg

Like all the rest and only a few, and I said a few, have swap in a 4AGE 20 silver.

1) A filter was put on and a 2" pipe ran from the engine to the muffler like HKS, Magnaflow(which I have on my subaru). CAT and Resonator was
taken out. Some have cats in.

2) Racing plugs, msd digital 6 plus are install. Some have left in the oem coils. One is going to change his coil to a Nologu M80. But I recommend to him to use the M75 since the Digital 6 cannot really pust that coil. The Crane Cmans Hi6 can.

3) Adjustable Fuel pressure regulator with A/f, temp, fuel pressure gauges are install.

4) Tuning extensively.

5) At this point the car gets on like a standard black top and more.

6) At this point, these cars are leaving black tops and giving honda's the tail except thge type R.

7) A black top ECU is swap in and engine properly tune. Electrical work have to be done if harness is not available. But not much work. Also the AFM will have to be replace with a MAP sensor.

8) The car idles between 500 - 1500 rmp during learning mode. Sometime over 1000rpm is fairly common, but this can be sorted out with throttle sensor and idle screw on the right side of engine just below the intake box.

8) More tuning.

9) By now, you now giving the type R 3+ car lengths.

10) Next step involves cutting the throttle bodies in the throttle body box. This will enble up top performance.

11) You might want to invest in a better filter from Greddy., HKS and others for high flow.

Some how, which is normal, the 4AGE 20v likes to be use with out the throttle bodies box.

12) Anything after is more power. New TRD head gasket to increase compression some more, TRD Header or HP Racing, Fuel computer, bigger throttle from companies like twtinduction, nology Hotwires, lightened flywheel, cams, bigger forgew pistons, vavle train upgrades. All of these part can be had from TRD or todaraing.com

13) One and only one, my mechaine have ran a switch to the VVT to have it on all the time. The engine gets on like it have big cams, but the acceleration is like mad.

14) Next step is turbocharging. biggrin.gif which alot have done on standdard cpu except my a few like my mechanic who uses the bleck top ecu and ran low boost around 4-8 PSI.

15) Drag tires over 205 is needed. 215 and up would produce good traction.

Mt turbocharge from scrap write up is a part of what he did.
