i put 87 octane in my car.... what will i get from switching it to 93? besides about $3 more

Two small points I feel required to make: 1: Unleaded is offered up to 104(buyracegas.com has Sunoco 104 Unleaded, and 116 Leaded) 2: Leaded fuel will kill the catalytic convertor, not the engine(the emissions it puts out will destroy the catalyst in the cat, causing the engine to perform badly... See http://www.chm.bris.ac.uk/motm/leadtet/leadh.htm for details) Anyways, I have found that running 93 makes for much smoother idle. And allows me to increase my timing a lot(currently ~12 degrees), without destroying the engine(been running fine for over 50k(201k now). |
