So my friend and I are rolling down and we come up to a red light and end up waiting. A red Celica rolls up from behind us to right next to us and rolls down his window and asks if its a GT or GTS, so I told him its a GT. tongue.gif He laughs and asks me to race him, so I said sure. I asked him whats done, since I previously had one and he revved his engine and the BOV screamed, so i'm guessing it was Turbo, so I gave him thumbs up and said "Nice.", and he replied its a GT. Then being a smart-ass he said "Ready to get your ass handed to you?", I just kind of laughed and put my sunroof back. I'm guessing he either bought a Turbo Kit for a GT, or had a 3S swap, I was leaning towards the 3SGTE Swap.

So light goes green and we both took off. If anyone knows a GTS, we have no low-end torque from 2000 - 6000RPM. Well, all you hear is my Intake Scream and this Turbo Celica takes off on me by about a 1/2 - 1 car length and his BOV goes and his buddy is video taping and laughing at us. Next thing, lift engages (I lied, its a modified GTS) and he lost his 1/2 Car length and his buddies face drops. Going through 2nd Gear Lift I have nothing but constant pull. Nothing like a little Natural Aspiration over Turbo. As I chirpped into 3rd gear, his buddy was still taping and he actually had my speed matched and may have had a little pull but he was sitting around my rear bumper, but revving out 4th gear he just dropped back into my rear-view mirror and 5th I just breaked and backed off.

Was a good race, looked like he had a small intercooler on the front, nothing to grande', an Erebuni Kit and an OEM CF Hood. Car looked clean, I gave him thumbs up until he flew past us giving me the finger, then I lost respect... But nonetheless, i'd like to know who it was for ****s-n-giggles, i'd like to see that video too.

Of course.

If you want high-end power, i'd go Injen Cold-Air Intake, it also gives the deepest, best sound of all the CAI and SRI for the GTS. You can also go AEM Cold-Air Intake too, that'll benefit you in the low-end. As far as a Header goes, DC Sport just put alot of time and money into making a Header for the GTS. Its Dyno proven a good + 9.3wHP and + 8.8 Torque, and its an affordable 260$. Trial, a very high name brand for the GTS makes a stainless steel header with great gains, but thats in the 850$ range, but there is a Header produced that actually reduces power, but I can't remember the name of it. Exhaust, the Greddy EVO2 Exhaust looks nicer and is only about 2 decibels higher than stock, also gives out .2wHP under the TRD Exhaust, and thats the other very good exhaust. So I threw away the .2wHP and went with the better looking of the two. As far as performance gains go, I believe they show up with a good +6wHP.

I know as far as Dyno's go, a GTS runs stock about 162wHP, with the Injen CAI it ran a 170wHP, but with the Header and Exhaust i'm not too sure of an end result. But i'm going to take a guess and say its around 180 - 185wHP. If she gets the I/E/H upgrades, then she should get her hands on an Apexi SAFC2 or an Apexi Power FC and get it Dyno Tuned, it'll help as well. My aftermarket fuel parts don't really help all that much, I upgraded them now since my GTS has a good bit of miles, and the Stafford Fab Fuel Rail has a Center Port for Direct Nitrous, and 2 end ports for Gauges etc, so its a very nice Fuel Rail.

[edit] The GTS handles performance modifications great, with just an Injen CAI and TWM Shortshifter, you can eat a stock GTS alive. Thats another thing, TRD Shortshifter and TWM Shortshifter are the best, TWM is a tad shorter though, thats what I have installed.[/edit]

Let me know if you got any q's.
