Ok to my understanding i will need a stand alone ecu in order to make a 3rd gen 3sgte pass emissions in the states. Now i dont know exactly what this entails. If someone could explain this to me that would be great. What all goes into a stand alone ecu, how will this effect the engine itself. And are there any other routes that i should consider. Thanks for your time.

It may make things a little bit easier, but your still going to need to wire other stuff, or the mechanic will. But undoubtedly u'll be better of with the stand alone, if u have the cash.
