My roomate told me using dishsoap for car wash messes up the paint and leaves spots on it. I haven't seen this happen to my car (or at least I dont think), but do you know if there is any truth to this?

Dish soap is made to dissolve grease, fats, and cooked on **** off your dishes quickly. Cars on the other hand dont need that type of aggressive formula seeing as dirt comes off pretty easy and a lite detergent is all that is needed. And they make rubbing compounds for the harder stuff like bugs and tar. And Ive never seen a soap with ingredients on the side besides "active ingredients" which is usually a list of one. |
