Ok guys don't blast me on this I know the 7afe is not a performance engine. But since the recent difficulty of getting the wiring done for the 3sgte and 4agze(which no one on this sight has even completed) I'm thinking of turboing my 7afe.

Now this is what I'm thinking of doing, finding a low mileage 7afe, and putting 4age pistons and rods, and a beefier crank in it, will the 4age crank work? Then turboing it instead of the engine I have now in my car. Of course putting in the larger fuel pump and bigger injectors. Oh and also swapping to a manual transmission.

To me this would be more plug and play and less hassle I think than a 3sgte and pretty reliable also I will be able to run higher boost then 8 psi. Will the 7afe tranny be able to handle this, if not what tranny should I use? What do you guys think?

if you want to do boost you engine.. you can do it one of 2 ways.. the cheap way or the right way..

i'm going to give you a little starting point on how to do it the write way.. fist off this is going to run deep into your pocket.. but worth it in the end..

start buy rebuliding your engine .. get custom internalls... not hard to get just expensive.. and they will be direct blot ons.. and make you bottom end support more boost.. i'm not sure about the crank.. but i think it will be able to hold to the extra stress.. then the head port and polish from a shop that knows what they are doing.. cause if this is done wrong you could ended up not getting the numbers you want.. and place anything that needs to be replaced..

the fule get a pump that will handed the engines new needs.. and injectors that will do the same.. there are few people on here that will tell what happened when you motor is running lean..

then there is you exhuast.. i'm not sure if the stock exhust is optimal for a turbo set up.. but chances are it's not.. you might want to do more looking into that..
