Get a Heavy duty pressure plate mac. You should be able to get +50 % biting power or so from just a pressure plate upgrade without feeling too much more springyness in your clutch pedal. Then if you want to avoid slipping get a different clutch disc... I don't like the oem disc it wears too easily. That's probably only if you drive you car hard, if you drive like a granny it won't be a problem. You will need a new throw-out bearing too. That will usually come with your clutch kit. I'd also get some work done to your flywheel - you will have access to it during the clutch upgrade so nows the time. Just get the face machined to get rid of any leftover clutch disc material or you could get it lightened & machined which is what I have recently done (very happy with it).
I got a heavy duty pressure plate, ceramic puck disc & lightened/balanced flywheel last clutch upgrade & am heaps happy with it. The flywheel made a huge difference to the engine response. This post has been edited by KAMiX: Jun 14, 2004 - 7:06 PM |
