well i just came back from doing a custom cold air intake with the help of my friend...**** was a bitch to do hehe unscrew all the bolts in the air filter box (the one that sits all the way at the bottom of ur fender) and unswrewing my splash guard as well as making my fuse box fit on top lots of cuttin heheh well here are the pics wut ya think

It will definetly help. I'm a mechanical/hydraulic engineer by day and I was trying to come up with a solution to that myself. The idea of the mesh is what I initially thought of as well. To work correctly you would need a mesh that will permit relativly unimpeded airflow but will block water. This is a very interesting problem and I'm going to experiment with different sized meshes and try to find one that water will pour over and not through. It's just a matter of finding the right size holes. I'll let you know if I come up with anything.
BTW - That's why all the baffles in the stock fender airbox. -------------------- ![]() |
