I keep spilling large sodas in my car. They will not fit in my cup holder by the ashtray. Im thinking of making some kind of cup holder. Anybody have a solution?

buy a medium soda.  or something in a bottle. I always buy bottled sodas if I'm driving. I just get a drink and then put the lid back on and either put the bottle in the passenger seat or the back seat.
