I am going to produce a limited edition fiberglass side skirt for the 6th gen Celica.
It will be based off of the veilside/vis invader side skirt, but will have a air intake molded into the rear of it that will have the option of forcing air into the rear wheel well, thus cooling the rear brakes by cirrculating more air in the wheel well. The side skirts will come a with mesh grill insert that can be changed to match any other grills you may have. There will be a few other minor changes added. These side skirts will be molded for a perfect fit... unlike the vis side skirt that need alot of modifications to fit correctly Info: Estimated cost: $350-400 for the set. 5 layer molded fiberglass. Preped and primered. Molded mounting brakets for mesh grill. Mesh grill is included. Tubing for funcional side skirts only. Diagrams for cutting to fit tubing. Hardware for mounting. Approx weight: 5lbs each Prototype designs will be availble soon. These side skirts will be a limited edition only, I am planning on making ten sets and possibly more depending on demand. I will NOT ship two sets within 300 mile of each other... That way they will be as close to one of a kind as possible. This way you won't drive down the street and see another Celica with these sideskirts. I am also planning on developing a front and rear air dam for the 6th gen. I want to see how well the side skirts go over before I produce the front and rear. I would like to have at least 10 sets preordered before I start to produce them. I do not need the cash up front. Money will be collected prior to shipping. If you have questions or comments regarding this you can contact me via email. ******UPDATE******
this is now the second time I am typing this cuz AOL sucks and right as I got done with the first time I got disconnected. Newayz: I got my 5th gen invader sideskirts last thursday and drove up to my car to see if they will work and gues what ... they dont fit... well they do but at the bottom of the rear section the skirt comes back in to far... and that isnt somthing that really can be fixed with out changing the whole structure of the piece... so after realizing that they wouldnt work the way I wanted them to we busted out the dremel and went to work shaping it down.... made me want to cry when I saw how much of that sideskirt that isnt gonna be used... 280 for a little scoop.. oh well. once when had the scoop portion cut off of the sideskirt we then shapped it down to fit up agianst the side of the celica and the 6th gen invader sideskirts... OMG does it look good.. we 3m taped it on and it makes me wanna just jerk off right there <---- J/K Newayz the scoop fits with the body lines of the 6th gen invader sideskirt perfectly... right down to the millimeter.. yea we measured every thing out. I am gonna go up there later this week if I get a chance and we are gonna fill in a few gaps that there are and glass it all in.. If I get it done I will post a pic of the side skirt.. sorry not of it on the car though<--- not until the car is finished. there is some bad news though....... I am not goning to make mine functional... as much as I would like to I am not doing it and heres why: I recently got my Brembo cross drilled slotted rotors and after talkin to a locale race shop I decided not to make the scoops functional as there will be too much cooling and the rotors will be in danger of cracking <--- not good and not gonna risk it - PERIOD so dont ask BTW that means that I am not gonna make the piece to make the skirts functional because I will not have an exact mold to go off of. the shop actually had this really cool program that allowed you to take in photos of your car and then you scanned them in and it would calculated the air flow to certian areas of the the vehicle...was really neat if ne one is interested I could probably find out the name of the program . Newayz here is the final conclusion I have come to: If you already own the 6th gen invader sideskirts then just buy the sideskirts here, mine where 280 dollars shipped and they did a really impressive job witht the packaging ![]() once u have both set of sideskirts then you can either fit them urself which I will be more than willing to help you with or you can have a shop do it for you... shouldnt be too much for that. if you dont have the invader side skirts then I would suggest that you get them and then follow the above instructions. I am debatin if I still want to produce these or not as it will proably be cheaper in the long run for you guys to just buy both sideskirts... I am still undecided as my car will be done some time here in the next month or two and once that happens I will have not spare time to work on side projects... lots of money to be made racin around here. like I said though I might still make these so I will let you know what I think when I get mine done and I will try and have a price for you guys if I still want to produce them..
