my kinda friend has a rsx type s (really suped up) anyways he burys the needle when racing past 9 grand.

and naturally i want to do this really bad but i was wondering what i would need to do to my car to make this safe?

i heard it was something about the ecu, i dont know.

anyways instead of asking him how he does it i thought id ask you guys what i would need to do to be able to bury my needle?

but wouldnt you gain speed faster from 5800 to 7800 then shifting and being at 2000. and plus wouldnt after shifting at 7800 you start your next gear at a higher rpm and thus accelerating faster.

well looking at that statement i realize it would apply on a car by car basis.

anyways say i get my car dyno tuned and it says im still making pretty good power at 7800rpm, more power than i would be making at 3800rpms. what would i need to do to make it safe to shift at 7800 rpms.

anyways thanks for answering a stupid question. biggrin.gif

um first of all if your shiftin at around 6.5k rpm's you shouldn't be landin at 2k, lol, and once you get to the peak hp then maybe go 500rpm's higher just so you can land in the next gear higher in the hp curve, but at the lower rpms your most likely landing in your high torque area of the rpms thus making you accelorate

lol thats kinda just jiberish but it makes since sorta in my own type of way.

but as for the safe to shift question, you can probably have your ecu tuned, and you might have to get some type of stronger/new parts for some random parts but im not sure
