I just noticed, and don't ask me why i just now noticed this, but wouldn't the top mount intercooler be better over all. Especially for drag. If you don't follow, you'll notice that there is only half a foot from the turbo to the intercooler, and another half a foot from the intercooler to the intake manifold. That means LOTS less turbo lag. So, wouldn't your gains (at normal psi) be the same from putting all the piping and weight into the front mount intercooler be the same as leaving your top mount, with the at max, foot of piping??????

right, and the air is forced into a 90 degree bend. The less bends in a hood scoop- the better; same as with exhaust the air has a higher initial flow/velocity 'vette hood scoops are very long and smooth; but unsightly sphinx and super; it's possible you just hit a dense air pocket with colder air- it happens |
