I started taking off my axles today because my CVs were busted. I got the passenger side off fine, but im having some trouble with the divers side. Does the axle just come out, or am i missing something? Ive tried prying it out with no luck. The axle came apart and this is what i have left to pull out.

Another question is does out tranny have a drain bolt? Alot of fluid came out and i want to replace the gear oil.
Thanks

Well i already baught axles before i started this project, and guess who they were rebuilt by?
I got the old axle out, and im assuming the new one just goes back in the same way... is that assumption correct? I have givin it everything i can but it just wont go. Any suggestions?
And yah the drain and fill plugs are the big 15/16 inch bolts sittin there on the tranny.
Thanks

doubble check that they sold you the right axel!!!!!!! you can do this by counting the splines on the axel and the tranny.

best way to put them in is to.....have the snap ring facing down....put the axel in the tranny and move it around untill you feel the splines match up and you can turn the axel and hear it doing something in the tranny. then take a long flat piece of metal (i used a long file) and put it at the sides of the axel (you know...those grooves that stick out of the part that goes into the tranny) ...use a hammer to tap each edge in, untill the axel goes in.

after you put everything back together, take a look at the 2 boots as your are turning the rotor. make sure they turn correctly and boot isint doing anything odd looking.

like i said before...you have no idea how bad CCT is....make sure they sold you the right axel....or better yet, return it anyway and go with carquest.
