So I began installing the nos last night. It's not really an easy task. I have my purge mounted and fuel and nitrous silenoids mounted as well. I tapped the fuel line and drilled through the fire wall to run my wires. Below the steering wheel, I popped out those lil rectangle dealies, by your knees. I put a toggle switch (my arming switch) in one of the spots, and a push button switch in the other (for the purge). The 2 button on my steering wheel will run horn and the actual spraying.
Here's where I'm welcoming a flame. I'm not running a WOT switch. I'm not too up the challege of wiring it up, so maybe down the road. Course, if you're careful, this is a big deal, at all. Here's the sneaky parts. My parents know I bought the nos but said if i install it or go to the track again, I'd have to get my own insurance. Well wiping off some numbers from the track is easy. But hiding nos? There's a way. I'm going to rip all the NOS stickers off the silnoids, and try to hide the steel braided cables, best I can. I'm not too worried, my rents are likely to never pop my hood. But the bottle. Well at first I was just going to leave it at a friends, and hook it up when i go to the track. But instead, I'm going to take an empty sub box, and put the bottle in there. I'll hack off the back of one of the speakers, so it'll look like I'm running subs. Course I'll have to secure the box down and find one big enough, but it can done. Another option is putting a small bottle, or a few small bottle where the spare tire goes. Or a few small guys in the sub box. I'll keep you guys updated and when I finish, I promise pics. Hopefully this weekend it'll be done. All that's left is running the line from the bottle to the engine, mounting the bottle, and a few lose ends. -------------------- NASA/SCCA RX-7....currently under the knife

take it easy guys. this is in general discussion for several reasons: 1) its announcing something he did to his car. its not asking a question or contributing information to a specific topic. 2) it could falls under several categories. engine/performance for nos, and interior/audio for the sub box idea. in conclusion. your wrong ![]() |
