Several times I've heard on these boards that advancing the timing a few degrees can be beneficial to both your fuel consumption and throttle response. Can anybody tell me the right way to advance your timing?

Ive heard people say to use a timing light and to adjust it on the distributor, but I need some explanations of what a timing light is/does and the best method to adjust timing. Thanks in advance guys.

Um, yeah you can.... You have to loosen a bolt on it, and then it will turn

timing can be advanced on 94-95's because they have OBD-I. 96+ have OBD-II and therefore the distributor can't be moved, and even if it could the ecu would automatically retard back the timing.
