since yesterday my car has been making this weird noise. Its an automatic ST with 63k miles. The sound comes from the front driver side area..

it makes this noise when i'm pushing the car and even when i'm rolling.

The driver side cv axle was replaced about a year ago. I'm not sure if its the axle or the tranny.

Anyone have any ideas?

it also pops too.. like when i give it gas and then i hit the brakes firmly. or when i come from a complete stop and start to accelerate it will pop also..

anyone selling an ST tranny in cali?

does anyone know how hard it is to pull out the tran?

could it be the hub bearing?

Hub bearings, what's a rough estimate on cost to replace that? The part itself would cost--and the charge for labor? Can it be done easily by yourself? Anyone care to give a writeup? I'm experiencing a very similar problem (ST Automatic, 83,4xx miles). Then again, I push my car extremely hard and have been hearing all sorts of weird things lately (I'm almost positive either my engine or transmission are going to break down within the next year).

the bearing is 65 bucks.. the labor is around 70-100 bucks... yea its easy work i did it 3 times on the ST.. but you need a press to do work.. if you want a how to on how it's done PM me
