Hey, granted this really isn't celica related, but it could be addapted to be.
Go to www.ststurbo.com and look around. I would have put this in OT, but I knew I wouldn't get all the traffic I would here. The turbo's on the cars listed are placed just before the muffler. I wanted to see your opinions on this. |

They say it's "not a problem" on any vehicle they tested (hydrolock) to which I have to say: BS.
They're just testing it in applications where they know it won't splash up; etc. "Splashes from huge puddles! water flying over the truck!" = water not going UNDER the truck. However, the placement of the turbo isn't all that bad- far away from the front tires and to the sides/in front of the back tires. As for boost lag; they claim it to be nonexistent.. And they've probably engineered it a certain way. My 2 cents: Take this as an engineered as is for 5 psi. Any tuning to this would result in power losses, boost lag; etc etc. It probably does what it says it does, at 5 psi. |
