I took my car in for its 60k mile maintenance. I told the mechanic sometimes my car doesn't start. I turn the key and it hits 1000rpms than dies. Sometimes now it doesn't even turn. The thing is, it only has happened three times in the last two months. What could it be? He was not very helpful. He replaced my four year old battery and said that was the problem but then my car had trouble starting yesterday. I have to hold down the gas for a full minute to get the engine to stay on. Have any of you guys had similar problems or know what it could be?
Is it the ignition or starter? By the way, everything else electric worked, so I was skeptical when he said it was my battery. ![]() |

Ay, I think, I ran into the same problem as you once. So here what I did:
I tried resetting my ECU, so, I unplugged the car battery. Unplugging the wires from the car better will activate your security system, which will disable your car's ignition and your car will not start. I went to my dad's friend's auto shop and he told me to do this (below) and it worked! I tried everything!! Hope this helps Here's how I got my ignition to start working: Step 1: unplug the wires from the car battery Step 2: insert your key into the ignition and turn it all the way Step 3: Put the wires back |
