The heat shields work but are mostly for looks... they are WAY to over priced also.
You can make one out of alumminum or titaium if you can find it...Titaium is very hard to bend though. Just buy a sheet of 1'x1' Alumminum and take a few mesurements. draw out a patteren for the heat sheild... keep in mind that you will need to bend the metal to mount it onto the fiter. then cut and bend... a good polish would go a long way.. you will want the shield to be about a inch away from the filter and curve around it 2/3 of the way --------------------  99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =) |
