HOw long would it take for me to build a custom shelf (not box) to replace the one in my hatch, about the same size, using fiberglass and plywood??? I guess I should ask if anyone's done it yet, but how long does fiberglass take to dry and what not, and is it really easy to work with or a B*&$H?!

i don't know why you want to use ply wood. FG is easy to work with once you realize what you're up against. I would recomment taking some chicken wire and make a basic shape. Fibre glass right over it untill you have your desired thickness. Sand and shape. Use a fine finishing putty to fill high and low spots. And paint.

I was mainly thinking about using ply wood for like a center basis to just put the sub woofer in and that part would be flat and then on the sides would be where the mold comes in. Now also, for putting in speakers and what not, is it okay to just screw the speakers right into the fiberglass or do I need a wooden circular frame built in under the glass to drill into???
