First of all RX7`s must be really really fast cars.
Me and a member of the Celica Club Cyprus we went out for a ride with my GT4 and we were side to side with a sliver Mazda RX7(285bhp thats what he said and i believe him) at a highway,we both downshift to 3rd gear we left him 1 and half car behind and he was coming closer to us for almost half a car but that was....he quit when we hit almost 200kms.
The RX7 was stock and my GT4 was with the upgrades i`v done so far,but in the case that the race was stock with stock the RX7 is faster. If the race was from stop, not on 3rd gear i think the GT4 will win the race very easy even on stock vs stock.

It's because they tried to get the most they could without going turbo, which basically ruins the point of a rotary I think. Rotary's live in high RPM's as do turbos. They coincide very well, and the earlier generation turbocharged RX7's were very fun trust me. The newer one of mine wasn't as fast but nice. And my FC3s was very fast. That thing would bounce right on pastr the redline and continue to provide awesome power. So much fun. Driving it for a time I figured out where to shift to get the next gear landing right in it's torque band and it would scoot man.

But anyways, I would take and AWD Turbocharged car anyday over any other platform.
