Hi all, I am trying to install a new stereo and found this "extra" wiring that I have no idea what it is for

orange/white wire is to (quote from my Pioneer installation manual) to Lighting Switch terminal, which im pretty sure is to dimmer, so you can adjust your head unit brightness with the dimmer switch? if im wrong feel free to tell me. I installed it without this wire and mine works fine. Good to see some kiwis on this site
