I got the tenzo r ralleys in mine and I love em. There pretty comfy once you get adjusted to em.
As for installing them there where fairly easy to do but you will need to either make a custom braket or remove the ones from your stock seat... doing that will make it impossible to return to your orginal seats so I suggest you make sure you want them if you go that route... but if you wanna use your stock braket heres how to do it. this is for a tenzo r rally seat.. other seats might benifit from this but no guarntees 1st you will to remove the stock seats. take them and set them upside down on a table or something. If you look at the braket assembly you will see the four mounting brakets. there is a bar that attaches the mounting brakets together(one on each side of the seat)Not the slider postioning control. that is what you are going to use. you will need a drill with a 3/8 bit and hammer to get these off. basically you need to drill out the rivit on the front mounting point.. if I remember correctly there is a weld and a 3/8 flat rivit. DO NOT MESS UP THE WELD, you will need to keep that mounting point intact. but do carefully drill out the rivit. you will aslo need to drill out a section on the center of that bar. it looks like two parallel dips in the metal. Think there are two sets of em per bar, drill those out. Now you need to take a hammer and CAREFULLY tap the bar with the two mounting points off of the whole assembly.. this might take a while and you notice that there are little silver rollers inside that will get all messed up.. thats fine you wont use them agian.. Once you get both bars off you will have to "U" shaped channels with two mounting points on them... u'll understand that when you do it. take those two bars over to your car and temp mount them down.. you might need to slightly bend the front mounting points back into alignment depending on how hard you where with the hammer, later you will want to weld this down a little since you drilled out the rivit and it will be kind of weak if you dont weld it back. with a marker mark the inside walls of the "U"'s your gonna remove that side from the "U" channel... there the ones that face each other. take the two bars outta the car. and using a dremmel or other rotary type of cutter carefully remove the marked wall at the bend. the bottom of the "U" channel needs to remain there completly but it can't have the inside wall. make sure its nice and even. go temp mount these into the car agian. you should be able to set your TENZO seats w/universal sliders for them in now and check out height and everything. If you did it right the seats should fit into the stock braket perfectly.. and I mean perfectly... if they don't... well its time for you to get a little creative and trouble shoot. now you will need to take everything out agian. remove the universal sliders off of the seats. make sure that the sliders are set to the exact middle selection.. there are 3 little teeth that you have to set into position.. the middle tooth will line up with a little circle thing on the bottom of the universal sliders for the tenzos. now you will need to line all of this up with the center of the brackets you made before.. make sure you get the right sides together.. would be a pain if you messed this next section up. once everything is lined up you will need to weld them together.. be careful not to heat it up too much or you will warp the assmebly ur making and it wont slide very well. do both sets of sliders. once everything is cooled down reattach the sliders to the seats and bolt them into the car and injoy ![]() also make sure you do the Passanger side 1st so you can still drive to the local hardware store or nething like that if you need extra stuff to make this work. also keep in mind that the 1st seat will take you ALOT longer than the second one to do. -------------------- ![]() 99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =) |
