So it seems my car alarm is stuck "on" and it's the type that cuts the ignition and battery when its going. I can't seem to figure out what to do. I can jump my car but the second I stop and turn it off, it completely shuts off and the alarm begins. It just goes and goes until the battery is dead...
Things I've tried: - Valet switch...doesn't even seem to work correctly anymore - Keyless remote...won't shut the alarm off anymore - Starting car...the ignition is cut by the alarm going off I haven't replaced my remote battery or my car's battery...those two are coming next. But really my only idea is to completely cut the power to the alarm all together....how can I do that???? Any other ideas??? Thanks everyone! |

So you can jump-start the car meaning you can start it with a key and jumper cables hooked up to the car's battery? And when you turn off the car, the alarm siren goes off until the battery dies? What if you drive the car for a while and let the alternator charge the battery...then if you turn off the car and try to start it 15 seconds later or so, will it start? To cut power to your alarm, your best bet will probably be to find the alarm brain, and pull out the harness(es) going to it. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
