For my final word...
I'll confirm what I've said before... and backup your info NEVERSTOP about the EGR function. Removing it will not solve your CEL problem, in fact, it will actually make it permanent. There isn't a real way (at least an easy one, short of litterally hacking the ECU) to remove the EGR and trick the ECU into not monitoring it... so you'll always have a CEL. My cousin has a similar thing with a CAT-less DC header on his 02 Civic SI, and he gets a CEL every now and then (but we can clear it cause we have the tools...) Anyways... as for pros and cons... the pro isn't huge, but the con isn't huge either. The EGR does have the side effect of reducing detonation cause it helps cool the combustion chamber, but it also does add a slight performance decrease because it spits back unclean induction... but give an take. As I said before... it's not a matter or removing it that's hard, but removing it is not gonna solve your CEL problem. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
