So it seems my car alarm is stuck "on" and it's the type that cuts the ignition and battery when its going. I can't seem to figure out what to do. I can jump my car but the second I stop and turn it off, it completely shuts off and the alarm begins. It just goes and goes until the battery is dead...
Things I've tried: - Valet switch...doesn't even seem to work correctly anymore - Keyless remote...won't shut the alarm off anymore - Starting car...the ignition is cut by the alarm going off I haven't replaced my remote battery or my car's battery...those two are coming next. But really my only idea is to completely cut the power to the alarm all together....how can I do that???? Any other ideas??? Thanks everyone! |

Thanks for all the input guys. Here's what I ended up doing. Last Thursday my roommate and I went out to jump my car. We had both cars turned off and when we connected the jumper cables, they gave a little spark and my alarm resetted. Without the ignitions on or anything, that little connection was enough to reset the alarm. I was then able to start my car and turn the alarm off with the valet switch. The alarm has been "off" ever since then and everything has worked perfectly. So from what I can gather, the alarm wasn't draining the battery, there was just a problem with the alarm constantly being on and cutting the ignition/power. So somewhere there's a short in my alarm - it's either time for a new one or I'll leave the valet swith on perminately. Cya later.
