jeez snarfer.. your all about the EGR
I will prolly leave it on for now... but still think on my perticualar setup it would prove benifical. my ECU/ECM is gonna be all screwed up on timing here in a few weeks newayz with the 5sfte.. that is the reason for the MSD 6BTM and think with the larger injectors/fuel pump/FMU I would run a low chance of detoniation. as for the EGR being an INTEGRAL part of the motor... it is only that way because of how the ECU is programed... example: JDM/EUROPEAN spec verisoins of the 5sfe with out the EGR system. think if you swapped out the ECU/ECM to a JDM spec one the motor would run perfectly fine with the addition of less sludge... which is accually quite a bit.. read on MR2OC.net about a guy the ran a catch tank and picked up 30cc's in a month and a half! thats alot over the course of 10-15 years. I think that if you reset the ECU to read the emission controls at 0 across the board it would also not trip a CEL.. Have a family friend that is the head tech up at Lujacks... one of the largest automalls in the country - he remaps ECU's all the time will prolly talk to him this weekend and see what he has to say about EGR removal. but I do thank all of you for your imput on this matter... just wish something like this was a little more straight forward on the PRO/CON side of things.. kinda like an intake is -------------------- ![]() 99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =) |
