I heard from a topic about a month ago that a boosted convertable is not a very good idea because the frame is weak and can't handle the extra torque say around 8PSI. Is this true? Before I start saving for a turbo/supercharger kit, I just want to know will a convertable hold up to the extra power? If it won't then i'll just go show with some simple bolt ons.

No. Convertibles like the Vette and the S2000 were designed to handle the horsepower - that is, they were designed as convertibles. Our cars were once coupes that got the tops cut off in California by a company called American Sunroof Company (ASC). The roof in a standard car provides much of its ridgity - when you cut it off, the ridgity is lessened significantly. ASC did provide some structural enhancements but they were all rear of the lock pillar. The flex is going to occur in the front cowl.
