so most of you know i wrecked my car and its been parted out, the major stuff is gone, door panels, seats, some interior pieces, rear bumper, wheels
what should i make sure is taken off before it gets towed rear spoiler hatch cover center console, shifter trim rear view mirror climate control unit (since it is totalled can i just cut that piece that you have to unhook down by the pedals or do you need that? i want to remove as much as possible so i can just still sell the parts withotu the shell still sitting in my driveway! |

actually coomer, that's not exactly correct. You can do it that way, but that means taking apart the ebrake from the inside, which you dont have to do. This is what you do. Get underneath the car and crawl down to the middle where the shifter should be. When you look up, there will be a metal plate that is held by one 12 or 14mm "nut" on each corner. (4 nuts total) Take those nuts off and you will see where the shifter cables go in, and where the ebrake lines end. For the e-brake lines, all you have to do is unclip them. They are connected the same way your throttle body cable is connected to your throttle body. After you take them off, on each cable, there should be 2 clips that are holding the cable it self and bolted on to the bottom of the car. They are these so that the cables don't drag on the ground. Just take off those little bolts and that's it. Don't take the e-brake cable off the hub/back plate. Just leave them on. This post has been edited by sphinx: Sep 13, 2004 - 5:36 PM |
