Well Legaly without any hassles no....

But what my friend did, he imported '95 Honda Del Sol SiR from Poland (which came from Germany)

to Toronto (Canada). Changed the vin number of totaled '95 Del Sol, but when he came back to

Chicago, the vin number was showing as '95 Honda Civic. It didn't matter though. DMV didn't notice

the car difference, and when cops pulled him over they didn't notice. Passed emissions without any

problem. And that car now is one fast Honda...

i'd like to point out that swapping VINs like that is a federal offense. not discouraging anyone, i doubt they'd care, unless you kill someone in an accident, but i just wanted to make everyone aware.

also, yes, the cars from japan and europe will pass the electronic smog test, but a visual inspection (not visual like seeing what comes out the exhaust, but visual as in examining the exhaust system) will show there is no EGR on the car. you can add it, in some states it just doesn't matter, like FL... but again, just want everyone to be aware.
