I know that the CAI gives you that extra air that the engine likes, but ive heard that it doesn't filter as well as the drop in filters and results in a engine life descrease. like 15-20% in some cases. Is this true or false?

My boss, who's a fairly knowledgable mechanical engineer, said that cone filters aren't as effective as box filters simply because they suck in air at a higher rate.
I think you should do some investigation if you're worried about it. Call K&N, since they sell both they won't lie to you. Oh yeah, and more power generally means shorter engine life. -------------------- ![]() |
