I was wondering if putting a FMIC on a non turbo engine would add any hp at all. I've only seen ICs on turboed cars, but why would they not cool the air more on a N/A car as well?

turbo'd engines push pressurized and heated air through the intercooler (if you dont know a turbo heats up the air significantly when it pressurizes it), it is nowhere close to ambient temp.  On an NA engine all you are taking into the engine is ambient air...so an intercooler will only hurt performance.

Thats not really accurate doge.. the air running through an intercooler on an NA car will still end up cooler than ambient air.. but.. smile.gif it's everything else that slows it down.

I highly doubt that an intercooler would cool an N/A charge at all. The only reason it is effective on a turbo engine is because the air is pressurized and is being forced agains the fins and tubes of the intercooler. In an N/A the air will only be gliding through... either way an intercooler will only harm performance... that is alot of extra unneeded tubing that air has to be forced through.

Air running through the IC would get a wind chill effect based on how fast u were driving; the intake doesn't heat air as it's coming through like a turbo; but the wind chill effect would still cool the air like.. 2 degrees. Why the hell are we discussing this? It's so silly. Pointless. Doge is god.

Just posting info for the masses Shid... dont take offence

Err, none taken; thats what the doge is god thing at the end is for smile.gif Doge is god!
