I might have to rebuild or get a new 7afe. Im don't have all that much money. I was thinking if I had to get a new engine, how much would it cost to put in a 5s? Would it be easier than a 3s? or just the same pain?

a 5s would be just as hard as the 3sgte.

these reasons are why no one uses anything BUT the 3sgte, because its just as much of a pain for everything so you mid as well spring for the top of the line one.

I wouldn't say it's as hard as the 3SGTE simply because the 5SFE harness would be plug and play (if you get a 6th gen GT engine harness/ECU). The underhood stuff will be pretty similar... but the 5SFE is easier to work with than the 3SGTE.
