hey guys... i'm a noob here and i need lotsa advice on what i gotta do to my 94 GT..
right now... my car's got a S.I.R with a K&N filter, just added a breather filter to it... changed sparks to NGK iridium, i've redone my piping for my exhaust, installed the ground wire system, waiting for the brembo brake rotors to arrive.. searching for best deals for short shifter. ( know where i can get it at a good price? ) did my tune up... changed my gauges, got eibach sportline coils and AGX struts on it ( got the coils and struts from prev. owner ), replaced tailights with 2nd generation JDM taillights, currently have 16 inches 01 7th gen rims.. doing engine swap by christmas.. found 3sgte engine from Engine Depot in NJ. What else would i need to replace before i'm ready for engine swap? -------------------- |

That'll be more than enough to beat his civic. This is the reason I hate a lot of civic owners. My friend works with a dipshiz that owns a civic. He did a customer twin turbo setup and is only running 3lbs of boost (idiot). He says to my friend " I will race you and beat you no matter what you drove today." Guess what? My friend drove his Honda CB900 Motorcycle that runs 12's easy (again idiot) Well, they get to a local highway and my friend SMOKES him. Like off the line he's gone. Stupid stupid stupid. Some people just have no idea how to make a car fast, just how to make it "cool" (although most of the crap they do is far from cool). Your friend sound like my other friend who owns a prelude. With lightened flywheel, full exhaust (header back), cam gears, performance clutch, and upgraded ignition, he barely kept up with me. When we raced it was a tie. Of course with racing we don't go that fast and we only do it in places where no one is around. **** I do not condone Street Racing in any form****
And to answer your shift point question, if I am driving nice and soft I don't go any higher than 3000, thats usually only when the engines cold. Just remember that your engine loves to be in its power band so when you can, open her up and take her up to 5000 or more if you'd like. Just don't do it to often because you will lose serious gas mileage. When racing I go to 5800, I found its where my car gets the best start in the next gear (After I shift my car is in the middle of the power band in the next gear.) |
