My Celi is about to hit 112k miles and it's already 10 years old. I think in the spring I'm gonna have about $1500 - $1700 saved up, which is just about enough for ummm....a paintjob and maybe rims? lol. I don't really race it so I think any major performance mods are out of the question. My options are to spend the money on this car and make it look nice or...I could sell it and use the money to buy another car, but I think I'm too attached to my Celica to do it lol.
If you have any suggestions they would be welcome. If not, thanks for reading anyway ![]() P.S. What are some cheap(er) ways to add some hp in the neighborhood of $400-500? And just curious, how much would a more performant engine cost? Please include labor lol This post has been edited by Rider: Oct 15, 2004 - 11:36 PM |

wont bash too much because I see your a newbie ![]() Cat-back exhaust systems have to be custom unless you are lucky to get your hands on a Greddy, in which.. there goes that 500 bucks. No headers for the GT my friend. I know someone made them in the "engine" forum, but its not nearly as readily available as say... a honda civic. Which 500 buckos, I'd work on suspension. You can practically do everything there is to do on suspension with 500. 1. New Struts/Strut inserts 2. New Lowering Springs 3. Strut bar / 2 or 3 point 4. Rear strut bar 5. Anti-Sway bars 6. Bushings and Boots for the struts That should be in the 500 ballpark range. Then your all done with suspension. The car will handle like mad, and with 112k miles on her... I'm sure the Celica would need it. Also, the cool thing about these mods is the fact that .... ready .... you can do them yourself!!!!!!! YEAH. There are many write ups, along with many many people on the site that have done full suspension upgrades (like myself) that would be willing to answer any questions you'd have. Also, with the extra 1000 from your save-up, you can get some nice 18's or venture into the 19's like a couple of people on the site (hehe - me). Hope I helped, -Ti EDIT: Welcome to the board Rider and Blakout This post has been edited by turboinduction: Oct 18, 2004 - 10:05 AM |
