I was wondering. Does the plastic that lines the inside of the fender serve any great purpose? One of them is damaged on my girlfriends celica and i was just going to take them off. It wont hurt anything will it?

Mine kinda ripped off when i had my bumper cover off. It gets a little dirtier, but, whatever. Its not absolutly necessary.
