 HELP - Tranmission Issue?, Heard a kerplink sound |

Hey guys.. while driving my Manual 1995 Celica GT, I shifted from 2nd to third today and heard this awful "kerplnk" sound ...
As if some sort of ring flew of or something. Anyway, I've been trying to shift and I seem to easily be able to shift into 1st, 3rd and 5th. But 2, 4 and reverse.. they barely hold and fall out. Weird eh? Anyone have any logic to this? Please help. I Have NO reverse gear right now, and I'm short shifting! It's painful -- I'd like to be armed with some info when I go to the mechanic.. Clips? I ordered the clips.. should be here in a couple days. I even got a print out of the diagram even! They are close to where cables go in.. (furthest away from the shift box - toward the front of the car)
BUT .. I'm a bit confused -- how do the clips make a difference. Should the cables still be connected and you should be able to shift still? Just curious.. thanks! Shaun |
