I know that California celicas have less horses because of emmision laws. But what reduces the power. Is it a chip or a restricter plate kinda thing. How easy would it be to make a non CA celica legal for CA (better yet a turn CA celica to a non legal and then turn it back when ever i need to)
Its a potenial 5 hp that might not be to hard to get. |

Over the summer I swapped a 96 CA 5sfe into a non CA 96 GT. The main differences are Injectors and ECU. There is also a vac port on the back of the head you'll need to cap for making it non CA. The CA injectors work fine with a non CA fuerail and non CA ECU.
So to recap if your swapping in a CA motor to a non CA car use your stock ECU, use the CA injectors, cap the hole on the back of the head and your good to go. |
