There is a guy in my area selling an 86 SR5 hatch. It doesn't run, but the guy said it was a bad starter, it has a broken side window, he said there was little or no rust, and that the exterior was straight. He said the inside was in great shape for the car, and there were no cracks in the dash.
He is asking $500 obo. Just from what I have said, do you guys think it would be worth much of anything? I figured I could get it running with a blue top for less than a grand... Honestly, what do you guys think? I thought about offering $300 and a tow out of his yard for it. ![]() i'D Sooooo love to have a AE86 to mess around with, and if I could get it running, it'd be hella fun. ![]() And chech this out, the guy asked me "you want to turn it into a drifter?" during our conversation. I about hung the phone up, lol. |

If the body's straight... I'd buy it. I also happen to have a GTS dash and engine harness... all ready for a GTS conversion... heh.
Also... the AE86 is a great chassis for drifting... but drift cars are traditionally great handling cars... so an AE86 would be an ideal AutoX car. You don't HAVE to drift an AE86... ;] FR, light-weight, great weight balance (almost 50/50), decent power, great aftermarket support... these oldies can still hang with today's best... -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
1995 AT200 Celica ST: stocked out daily driver... 1984 AE86 Corolla GT-SR5: silvertop 20V 4AGE project car jacked up with goodies... 1991 SW2x MR2 n/a: bare bones hardtop model soon to be... |

That's no lie, I saw a video of 2 AE86's tear a new hole into a R34 Skyline on a racetrack. p.s. The new qouting is weird at first... |
