I had read previously on different posts about the front speakers being 6 3/4"s...NOT. Got me a pair on Kenwood's KFC-1738C. They sound great but they don't fit. I am thinking of finding hard plastic and cutting it to fit the hole where the speakers go and make it a custom round frame. Maybe I can get a couple of frisbees to do the job. haha. If only the plastic on them were hard enough.
Any other ideas?

I think the posts were referring maybe to the "active" cone
area of the speaker, not the surrounding frame.I did the same as you a while back, bought "blue cone " KFC's(not kentucky fried chicken) on the info given and man was I pissed off when I realised they weren't gonna fit. Someone suggested cutting the existing speaker off the frame and mounting the replacements to the frame but I haven't had the chance, besides my girl's beatin me up about me spendin more time with the car than her!
