Photography, As a hobby. Options

Does anyone do it here & if so, what camera would yah reccomend, I was thinking of getting myself for awhile now but I lack the info to get started. I remember hearing that the Canon - EOS Digital Rebel was a great camera for starters but that was like 6 months ago, would you guys reccomend this or something else?!

Aztec ruins haha, Ya I submitted it It was taken at this park...cant think of the name, but its this cool castle type looking thing on top of a giant hill in Portland. You have to take this road that winds around & take you past a bunch of huge rich houses. Its only about 12 miles from my house.....Theres a search light up there & some one was funny enough to climb up & put a batman signal on it

Meonspeed- whatever camera you get, you gotta come back & show us the pics you take with it ( what am I saying....of course u will!!)
