Exploding lava lamp kills Kent man
06:02 AM PST on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 Associated Press KENT, Wash. - A 24-year-old man who placed a lava lamp on a hot stovetop was killed when it exploded and sent a shard of glass into his heart, police said. "Why on earth he was heating a lava lamp on the stove, we don't know," Kent Police spokesman Paul Petersen said Monday. Phillip Quinn's parents found his body in his Kent trailer home at about 8 p.m. Sunday. They went to check on him after his girlfriend reported that she couldn't get in touch with him. The King County Medical Examiner's office estimated the time of his death at 2 p.m. Sunday. After the lamp exploded, Quinn apparently stumbled into his bedroom, where he died, Petersen said. CSI: KENT, damn that show would suck, kent is not a very interesting town, there is nothing there, just like car dealers and i think ikea is down there.
but yeah key point "Trailer home" means he was a lil broke. maybe the lova lamp was like really old (from the 60's and had hardend up a bit so rather then go buy a new one, he desided to re-melt the lava via stove top. that is really sad, why did he go to the bedroom, if he wanted to get to a phone it should not be in the bedroom, but the kitchen, or living room. I nominate him for the darwin awords. --------------------  |
