well, i keep forgeting to take pics of my 260z, but my friend took one pic after i had moved it to the other side of the garage to clean things up and wait for the replacement turbo

its all painted flat black untill i can get a maaco paint job, i had to replace the drivers fender and headlight nacel thingy. car was red faded to ugly orange. i stripped it down to metal and painted it with OSH brand flat black enamel to prevent rust, plus from 20ft away, it looks awesome. not bad for cheapo paint.

engine swap went great. car got spark the third time i tried it. i had forgotten what wire was supposed to connect to the ignitor on the coil. and once i routed the wire harness into the body, i powered up the ECU, turned on the fuel pump, and it started the very first time. thats when i noticed that vast amounts of oil comming out of the turbo.

so i drove her up the streetand back down into my garage. the centerforce dual friction clutch really grabs hard. gotta work at it to break it in properly.

here is a recent pic of my friends 71 z, he is also going to do the same engine swap i did, but with a cleaner setup as well as an SDS EFI system right off the bat with 450cc injectors, a turbo with a larger exhaust housing than what i ordered. its really funny cuz he already got his custom plates that say turboed z but the car is pretty slow

Argh. Makes me want to buy an older car. Really love those Z cars.

there is nothing like a car where you dont ever have to have a smog/emissions check.

but they certainly need a lot of work unless you shell out a lot of money for one where someone already did most of the hard work

that's why my friend is so luck with his car. everything is done on that car, except for a powerful engine.
