The new issue of Car and Driver has a nice little write-up about the Toyota Supercar due as early as 2006. According to the article, Toyota representatives have indicated that they wouldn't produce it until they get some victories in F1 races. Its reported to have a v10 and 500+ hp and retail at between $100-120k. Interesting stuff...

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

What Toyota NEEDED to do was to produce more 6th gens in the US with the 3sgte option. The 6th gen Celica as far as I'm concerned was the last TRUE Celica. The 7th Gen doesn't even follow the original body lines that was started by the first gen and followed by every generation after that. Not to mention that the 7th Gen is obviously the most popular of all of the generations before it (I consider them girl cars <not to generalize or anything> ) If they offered the 6th gen with a turbo option in the US I would have jumped on it a long time ago. I hope that Toyota gets in the game of supercars because I really don't like any of the domestics and I would like to see a Toyota designed car waste a European Supercar any day.
