ok guys i just recently got my Celica liek 2 days ago its a black 96 ss1....now its automatic but plan to got for a transmission transplant later on...but i realise on the gear box of the automatic car theres to buttons...PWR..when i click it on it says ECT-S POWER next to the speedometer ...then theres MAnu ...i press it and next to the speedometer it says ECT-S Manual, but when i turn either of them on the cr feels exactly the same ...now the prob is t heres also sum sorta crazy looking red button with japanese writing on it i darre not push it but culd sum1 tell me what the hell it says or wat it does at all ??? please

I don't believe traction control is employed on celica's, I'd say that being a Jap import
its an "overdrive" on their automatic gearboxes, its quite common to
see these on the supra's, the idea of the overdrive is to reduce the stress on the
gearbox at higher speeds, it engages a fourth gear.
The "manu" manual button allows the gearbox to be placed into power or economy
mode.In power mode the car is held in 1st and 2nd gears longer for more grunt
and sportier drive. Hope this answers your question, Oh yeah the red button isn't
a James Bond ejector seat button biggrin.gif , its a park release, when you press it it allows
you to shift from the park position without having to press the brake,
