Hey, I'm new to the forums and was looking into getting a 6th generation celica, it seemed to be in my price range and I'm getting bored with my Catera. Anyways I just had a few simple questions. Does it have airbags. How do insurances companies look at them, I don't have the best driving record and the cost of insurance is probably going to be the biggest decision maker in which car I get. One last thing is I was wondering what the stock acceleration was like, 0-60 and 1/4 times basically.

QUOTE (Nimps @ Nov 13 2002, 05:00 PM) What kind of engine would be swapped and what would an estimate on the total cost be? Popular swaps are the 3S-GTE(2.0 Liter Turbocharged DOHC - From Celica GT-4s and MR2s) and the DOHC 20 valve 4A-GE, which is naturally aspirated, and DOHC 4A-GZE, which is supercharged. The 3S-GTE will provide you with the most power and is probably the easier swap if you have a GT. If you've got an ST, it'll definitely be easier to swap in a 4A, because it's an A-series engine so you won't have to change the motor mounts. I don't know a whole lot about the engine swaps, but lots of people on here do and they can help you a lot better than I can. ![]() -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
